San Francisco Comedy and Burrito Festival
2012
I applied for the San Francisco Comedy and Burrito Festival. I would really love to go do this festival as a kid who grew up in the Bay Area, who went to the FIRST San Francisco Comedy Festival and countless club shows from the age of 14 and up, with big black Xs drawn on my hands so that I wouldn’t be served alcohol at the Punchline, Cobb’s, The Other Cafe, and more. I lived in SF itself for 10 years and started doing comedy in cafes after seeing Marc Maron perform during the year or two that he lived there in the early 1990s. Working on the beginnings of the Internet for 4 years, 80+ hours a week killed my comedy aspirations in SF but a few years after moving to Western Massachusetts I started up again, doing a video project with Bill Burr, a documentary with Paul Virzi, and hopefully launching a web series soon.
I’ve performed at the New Orleans Comedy Arts Festival, New York City (Standup NY, Comedy Cellar, Eastville, etc.), Boston (Boston Improv, Comedy Studio), Los Angeles (Ice House, Nerdmelt, O’Briens, etc.), as well as upstate New York, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and New Jersey. I would love to come back to my old hometown in a festival as fun as this one – I still have a ton of friends and family in and around San Francisco, it would be fantastic!
Also, nobody in New England can make a decent burrito worth a shit, I’m desperate.
